If your machine is new, have it serviced at least once a year for the first two years. Unless you sew on a consistent basis, then bring it in after six months. Most dealers give one to two years free service.  At Sisto’s Sewing and Quilting Studio, we offer three years of free service.

The reason for these services so soon after the purchase is to make sure the machine adjustments are where they are supposed to be and nothing has changed in the performance of the machine.

These service appointments are very important the first and second year. Like the “well visits” when you first have a baby. We give you the third year of FREE service as a thank you for purchasing from Sisto’s.

If you are having problems with your machine bring it in as soon as you can. Ignoring small problems can lead to major repairs down the road.

I wish I had a dime for every story dad told me about people getting very angry after they buy a sewing machine in the “big box” store.  They give “them” the money, the machine breaks down, they bring it to Sisto’s for repair, and then get upset that Sisto’s charge them for labor to fix it.  Please, please, please read and forward the following note from my dad the “repairman.”  Especially if you are planning on getting a sewing machine this holiday season.

Christmas is coming. Maybe you want to get your spouse a sewing machine.  A word to the wise; be careful where you buy, that bargain is not always a bargain.  Purchase the machine from an authorized dealer like “Sisto’s Sewing and Quilting Studio.”

You will get instruction on how to use your sewing machine. Come in and receive as much instructions as you need at Sisto’s.  Plus you will receive service on the machine; most dealers will give one year free service; Sisto’s gives you three years free service.

Our prices are just as competitive as the “big box” stores and we do have a better selection. We perform all warranty work on our machines. If you purchase from the “big box” store the manufacture will supply the parts but you have to pay for the labor, unless you send the sewing machine back to the manufacture.

I could go on and on with more reasons to buy from a dealer.  Just remember you get what you pay for and the “big box” store is just that; a machine in a box.
